Efthimia Rooms Milos

Information

Plakes is a small seaside village (settlement) just before Milos capital, Plaka and Triovasalo, with beautiful, white, neat houses and alleys, overlooking the Venetian Castle (Kastro) and the Aegean Sea. Nearby is located the church of Agios Haralambos (Saint Haralambos) where you can find one of the oldest Icons on the island, Panagia Akradiotissa (Virgin Mary of Akradiotissa). Finally, Plakes offer a fast and easy route that leads to the stunning beach of Plathiena.

That’s exactly the location we chose to set up our small family business, a complex built in traditional Cycladic style. It consists of five double rooms in a spacious area, with built-in king sized beds and wooden dressers carved by hand. The hallmark of our rooms, are the handmade boat figurines, which are dominant in all of our rooms.

Our rooms are located within a five-minute walk from the super market and the island’s capital Plaka, with beautiful paths for your romantic strolls. On top of Plaka hill, stands the imposing Venetian “Castro” of the 13th century. From there you can enjoy an idyllic sunset with beautiful colors and a panoramic view of the island’s bay.

On the top of Kastro, you will encounter the church of The Assumption of the Virgin or Mesa Panagia, while ascending and descending to and from the castle you will see another beautiful church, built in the black rock, the Presentation of Jesus or Virgin Thalassitra. Also, make sure to visit the metropolitan church of the island, Panagia Korfiatissa which offers a dreamy sunset from it’s marble courtyard.

In Plaka you will also find numerous restaurants with delicious food, coffee served with traditional sweets, souvenir shops and bars for those seeking some nightlife. Do not forget to visit both the archaeological and folklore museums that keep the cultural heritage of the island, with several exhibits.
